Inter-module interactions

Post by Diceman »

Hi everyone. Sorry if this isn't in the right forum...

My situations is as follows: I'm trying to create a website similar to shutterfly for my Boss's One-hour Photolab business. I'm trying to do this with as much free software as possible. Basically what I think I have to do is get an image upload module, image gallery module, image editor module, and an e-store module, and configure them so that the image the customer uploads turns into the product they buy. Are there any products for sale with all those features already? Depending on price, it might be an acceptable course of action. We're trying to avoid the established companie's 5 grand setup fee. Another option would be to work with something like Yahoo Smallbusiness, and have them come up with something for us.

I'm fairly new to PHP, but I'm not afraid to go into the code. I've worked with HTML, CSS and C++ before, so I'm used to learning new code. So far I've got my own computer up and running with WordPress and Apache2triad, which isn't much I know, but it's a start.

Thanks in advance!

This product has a lot of what I'm looking for: eOrdering Professional. I just need to know if it's possible to turn existing images like the ones listed in this example page into ones that the customer uploaded. I'm thinking it is, I just don't know which modules to use, or how to configure them.

Thanks!

edit... nevermind... that product isn't database enabled. I doubt I could use it without that feature.

Update:

We've decided to go with yahoo's small business solutions, but it seems like we may need some third party modules do add the functionality we need. Which modules would you recommend?

Thanks!
