Need some suggestions for contact management system

Post by Burrito »

// temporarily jumping out of Yoda speak I am, too much information for Yoda this post will contain

The company I work for has been building excel spreadsheets of all of their contacts from its birth. It's now to the point that it has outgrown excel and they want something a little more robust but easy to use (searchable, reportable, sortable etc).

I volunteered to build a contact management system for them, but apparently they feel my time would be better served here answering questions 8O

In all seriousness, they need something and they need it yesterday. I thought I'd throw a feeler out here to see if any of you have some good suggestions. Could be Open source (if so, preferably something web based (php :D)), or could be something off the shelf (even still I'd prefer web based).

the only one I know of is ACT and it's pure poo IMHO. They'd like for it to be customizable and potentially track leads, students, customers, etc.

please let me know if you know of any that are good solutions.

thx,

Burr

Not sure if this fits your description but you might want to take a look at http://www.sugarcrm.com . They have a working demo there too.

forgot to mention I did that sugarcrm I have also seen.

more impressed with it than ACT I am, but not sure our needs it will suit.
