Download nero, and install.

Once you have that installed it will make your ISO files clickable, and opened by nero with the appropiate burning settings.

Then burn.

The only thing you need to worry about burning is the ISO. Perhaps the documentation onto a second CD.

any major CD burning program allows ISOs. I know in nero, you just open the file in Nero and it just brings up a dialog with all the settings filled in, you press burn, and voila

ISO Recorder is good, albeit somewhat buggy (may have improved since I last used it).

Yep it sounds like you are trying to burn the ISO file as-is directly to the CD. Think of the ISO as being more like a zip file and you want it's contents burning to the CD, not the file itself ;)

Most burning tools have an option for something like "Burn Image" or "Create CD from Image" - that's what you need to be looking for.

ISO's are fun to play with. An even EASIER way to do it is download Daemon tools, it emulates a harddrive with an ISO/CUE image and will 'fake' a CD drive so that you can run an install whatever program it is. Search google for "Daemon Tools" and you'll get the right website. (Which should be kind of like a PHP-Nuke driven website as I remember).

I did that the first time I downloaded Linux too. hehe Burned the files rather than the ISO image.

Then I discovered the wonders of Nero and it's been smooth sailing ever since.
