i'm not really sure if this is the right forum or site, or this can be done, but anyway, my question is, is there any way that i can disable a key from the keyboard(i'm using windows xp)...for example, i would like to disable the "Alt" key and upon pressing it, it will not respond to any function designated to it, upon pressing it, nothing will happen, same as if i press the letter "a", it will not respond and will not type and not be seen in the monitor the letter "a"...can this be done??thanks in advance..

Hmm. There may be programs for that, but a good way to disable keys is to use a screwdriver and take them off the keyboard...

I know a guy who removed the windows key,
since he kept hitting it accidently while playing games.

depending on the keyboard itself, some drivers support disabling of keys. There are a few tools around that install as drivers in order to hook the keystroke so it's filtered out before Windows actually sees it, unfortunately, a lot of them are considered malware and such because of them disabling standard functionality in a non-standard way...
