Let's make a rain forest (using PHP and MySQL)

Ye' old general discussion board. Basically, for everything that isn't covered elsewhere. Come here to shoot the breeze, shoot your mouth off, or whatever suits your fancy.
This forum is not for asking programming related questions.

So the forums are locked for now.
Wow this project has a dedicated server already?!

This looks amazingly promising with the level of talented programmers interested and willing to work on this project.

I'm personally interested because I am fascinated by AI and will be taking university courses on it in a few years.

Patience, young jedi.

I made a logo too (didn't realise anyone else had).

Maybe we can use both ;)

Is there a definitive answer for what LIFE is an acronym for?

Is there a dotted line you need sign? :)

It's an interesting project. It's also applicable in a gaming environment (or at least the experience would be). Since its so smack in the middle of my free time hobby I'll volunteer.

My sf name is maugrim_t_r for reference...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/rainforest/

'Twas well hidden by the "rainforest" unix name. The SF project was approved methinks.

Ok everybody. Listen up, ESPECIALLY those who want to join and contribute to the project.

At the moment we're having a bit of a problem with the forums, as we are trying to transfer them to a new and a dedicated server.
That's first.

Second, as soon as two days time tops, I will publish around these forums and the community forums (which will be up 'till then) my first recommendation out of many to come regarding this project.
The recommendation will contain information about how the LIFE enviorment will behave and perform tasks, and the way we'll manage (administratively) this project. We do need a bit of personnel control, and I can't take care of EVERYTHING.

Please, I know you are all very much eager to see LIFE start to take a form, but everything takes time, and all beginings are hard. I am feeling very much the same like you, except that I have to command it all :)

So please, BE PATIENT. After two days I will start recruiting people on SF (yes, we got approved!!), and start giving people duties and roles and tasks. After that, all should go fast and reliable.

Newsflash.

The forums on http://www.life-project.org/forums are up, they're brand new, so a big 'I'm sorry" for those who already registered and posted topics.

Hey but now we have a dedicated and a faster server thanks to d11wtq :)
