Top Gun
Day of the Jackal
Dune
The Interpreter (I strongly feel this was badly marketed. Was marketed as a car-chase bomb-explosion thriller, which it wasn't (thus putting off people wanting an intellectual-type film by marketing, and those after such a film because there weren't tonnes of gunfights (although... I'm probably biased. They were filming in the UN when I was on a tour. Was great fun, we came in when they were taking a break from filming two scenes

:D)
Casablanca
Probably my all time favs

Top Gun has some great music that I sometimes listen even now. That Berlin's song - Take My Breath Away and Playing with Boys Remix by Kenny Loggins are my fav one in that

I guess I would classify them all as "waiting for the real movie to start, but then about halfway through realizing that this is all there is" - but I definitely like that "left of center" type of movie
