Favorite Foods

Post by Burrito »

well since we're getting in the habit of posting these "favorite" threads that have absolutely no bearing on php whatsoever...I thought I'd post mine...

what are your favorite foods:

broken down by: breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts:

Breakfast:
Wheaties
Eggs Benadict

Lunch:
Bleu Cheese Bacon Burger (with seasoned waffle fries)
chicken ceasar wrap (with seasoned waffle fries)
anything else edible (with seasoned waffle fries)

Dinner:
Filet Minon Steak (From Ruth's Chris is the best!)
King crab legs
Tortellini Alfredo
Lobster Bisque

Desserts:
call me Mr. Americana, but it's tough to beat the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake at the Olive Garden
Breyers Oreo ice cream (not the Breyers cookies 'n cream, but the Oreo branded one (in the blue container))

damn it, now I'm hungry....

Breakfast: Life cereal. Cold
Lunch: (I call it dinner): Sandwich - Tomato (ripe, not the green ones that are just dyed red), lettuce (green leaf), mayonnaise (real, not that Miracle Whip crap), thuringer salami or black forest ham (thinly sliced) - all on fresh whole wheat bread. With a glass of 2% milk.
Supper: Rice with margarine and salt and pepper with barbequed salmon and a nice side salad.

Bah dessert!!

Um.. best I've ever had was Baked Alaska - merengue (sp?), angel food cake, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. On an average day though, I definitely won't turn down a slice of Apple Pie.

@d11wtq - that's my hair (3 days into a mountain bike trip) on the head of my usual icon :)

Breakfast:
Cheese Burger with Fries. I worked nights for years. More than one breakfast cook has told me to go to hell when trying order one in the morning. Of course, once you know where to get a Cheese Burger at 8AM why would you want an egg? :?

Lunch:
Chili, not just any chili but Charlie's Chili from my local Gulfport Restaurant.
Philly Cheese Steak - I usually have to make it myself.

Dinner:
36 oz T-bone, bake potatoes, corn and fresh bread with real butter from Cody's Streak House.
Or Pizza. My current favorite pizza is from Sam's Club on Friday. Yes, I know the day of the week to get the best pizza from Sam's Club.

Desserts:
Local French restaurant makes a chocolate cake to die for! Believe me it has to be pretty good to get me to sit next to someone eating snails! Reservations are required.

Hmmm... Doner Meat Pizza. That used to be called "Northern Delight" when I was in Newcastle. It truly is something to enjoy to end your night out :)

omg, I can't believe I forgot pizza!

given that it's the staple that has kept me alive for the past 23 years.

problem is pizza is so broad so I think this one must be broken down by places to eat pizza:

my favs:

1) The Pie (in SLC Utah)
2) The Bad Donkey (In Cave Creek Az)
3) Lee Zachary's (In Burlington Vt)
4) Wasatch Pizza (in SLC Ut)
4) Rays (In Phx Az)
5) Nicks 24-7 (In Phx Az) (don't let the name deceive you, this is good stuff and you can get it any time :) )

-- now commercial pizza --
6) The Hut (tough to beat a pan dbl pepperoni dbl cheese from the Hut (as far as commecial goes))

It's been a while since I had some of that but Wasatch Pizza is terrific. When I'm in Chicago there a great pizza place called Eduardo's. It's killer. I've never had better than that.

The Bit of Germany in Dunedin Florida had some great cheese cake and the wienerschnitzel is pretty good too.
