One-Click Answers

Post by $var »

I just downloaded 1-click answers from Answers.com and it's really neat.
You can get OS downloads, or what I got, was a Firefox plug-in that basically, if you Alt+Click on a word,
it calls from Answers.com (which I think feeds from Google and Wikipedia and a bunch of others it appears) and gives you dictionary and encyclopedia references. It even doubles as a spell checker, letting me know it isn't spelled encylopaeda.

Anyways, neat feature.

Yeah it sounds a bit spyware/adware-ish to me. If you like it... what the heck :)

Yea, let all your personal files and browsing habits be pimped out without your knowledge! Way to go...

I guess it's a trade-off. Either you keep your private life private, or you get "convenience" by using services offered by companies that sell your information to spammers and other companies.
