google adsense

Post by s.dot »

does google reward you more for clicks when you have more impressions?

It seems lately i'm getting a lot more money for clicks than I used to.

Is there a calculation that goes on when determining how much you get per click, or is it basically the advertiser pays a set amount per click?

I don't know, but maybe this FAQ/sub site can help somehow.

It's directly tied into the AdWords program.

It's entirely based on what content you have, how likely advertisers are going to dish out bucks for those keywords, and how many advertisers want better listings with those keywords.

For example, "web hosting servers" and "online poker" will bring in higher paying ads per click than "dog food" or "coffee mug". Plus since they are very popular keywords, advertisers will pay more per click for them than they would for less popular ones. I got $2.72 for a single click for a web hosting ad and I've surpassed $1.50 dozens of times with other web hosting and poker ads. Whereas on another site I had ads on, and the keywords weren't ones that fetched a lot, I was lucky to surpass $0.30 per click.

The percentage of clicks to impressions entirely depends on how you place your ad, and what sort of site you have.

If it's one with a dedicated following, they will be more inclined to click ads to support the site. If it's not, then your chances go down drastically.

I've gotten like $1.72 for a single click before.

I just noticed lately I am getting paid before I generate any clicks for the day, which means google adsense MUST be doing CPM ads too. Which is good.

Also lately, been getting 20 clicks a day for around $7. Which is better than when I used to get 20 clicks for $2.

That's nothing, whenever there's an incident/suing fad lawyers will shell out almost $80 USD / click. Like mesothelioma or asbestos. This is on overture. Never seen anything over $5 on adsense personally.
