people are awesome
man i love people. me and a few buddies where getting a burger at this stand last night after a bit of drinking. there happened to be a few russians at the stand and my friends are estonian, if you don't know russians and estonians do not get along. things got a little tence and the last that was said was "you are in estonia you speak estonian" by my friend to the russian (in estonian of course) and that caused a punch to be thrown and it exploded from there. huge fight in the middle of the parking lot. we kicked their asses and then a group of 10 russians came out of nowhere and so we booked it. in all of this i got punched hard in the eye by a dude with extreme rings so i had to get like 5 or so stiches and now my eye is all swollen. but for what? why all this hatred? i understand russians have this thing for fighting (at least in my town they do) but i don't understand it. THIS WAS ALL OVER US SPEAKING ESTONIAN AND ENGLISH AND NOT UNDERSTANDING RUSSIAN! WTF! god i love people.

ohhhh man what i wouldn't give to see some of them today with all of their wounds. but the worst part is now its like, do i gotta watch my back every time i step outside at night? its like this french riots, scared to go out of your own house at night becuase you are going to get beat for no reason at all. i guess i will just have to walk lightly and carry a big stick, and when i say stick i mean baseball bat.
I wouldn't call it "punched in the face" worthy, but HEY, I'm just some crazy liberal american sitting in the comfort of his own (very safe) home.Weirdan wrote:from your babelized speech it appears your friend was trying to dictate what language should these russian guys use (in their crowd, right?):I wouldn't call that 'polite', would you?and the last that was said was "you are in estonia you speak estonian" by my friend to the russian

If you didn't know, about 1,000,000 Russians immigrated to Israel (where I live) over the past 10 years (note that the Israeli population is nearly 6,700,000 people).
Some of the teenagers from Russia that live here have the stereotype of what is known to Israeli teenagers as "Punkists". When you here somebody talk of a "Punkist", you emmdiatly know he is speaking of a Russian. One of the social stigmas (=statuses) around the Russian "Punkists" is that they seek fights. They are violent people, which hang around in gangs only to have fights.
Of course this is only a social stigma, but I have encountered not a few that answer to these details.
