Uh oh Sony....
feyd thought it'd be funny to delete the link instead of just going and reading the damn thing! grrr. either way, notice how I mentioned Sony in the title? and then I posted a link.. http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/1 ... index.html .. I propose the link has something to do with sony..and a few days ago we talked about sony installing a certian type of spyware...either way.. go read the damn thing or not... paraphrase : someone exploited sony's "trojan" they install on your PC when listening to their CD's.
and someone add damn to the smurf list please!:-D
edit: may have to click that link more than once... Maybe..

That's relevant... I don't see why not?
Are we going to have stupid teenage drama in this board now?
It appears people are getting comfortable and feel cool or something...
remember it is a geek board, not a freaking indie music board...
this is not the place to pretend your hip... it's for info.
and this particulary piece, while not coding centric,
is at least a neat news splash.
I hate the idea that any time anyone puts anything up, that it is subject to ridicule now...
and not 3 monthes after i praised the users for being so laid back.
lame!
thanks for the post Charles256

Article linked to relates to Sony's questionable copyright protection software being misused by a recent computer virus. The problem is Sony install this when you play enabled CDs in stealth (finding the files is...difficult). Also restricts the software you can use to play the CD.
Personally I'd just copy the lot and point my usual player to the source MP3's. Only works on Windows I believe?
The punchline...

Quoting from the CNN article linked above...Sophos said it would have a tool to disable the copy protection software available later on Thursday.
