Deleted to make people feel all squishy inside.

On a side note, also deleted because my initial anger has faded :p

It's really nice to see all the people are coming back again to the original forum itself.

It was terrible to realize on last Saturday that most of my seniors and major contributors who are the big assets of this forum have been removed from moderator status.

Thanks to hawlejr, shiznatiz, foobar and many others who sent personal messages and conducted polls to highlight the importance of the old members holding moderator status.

It is not actually the forum that is so popular but there are many volunteers like feyd, Roja, timvw, jcart, burrito and many others who spend more time on the forum helping guys like me.

I was thinking of posting common messages at both forums for McGruff and others to patch up again but surprised to see that all others have been reinstated to their positions.

I would like to appreciate McGruff for reinstating back all others to their positions and the other senior members who have solved problem in a professional way and all other people who condemned the happenings for the last few days.

As everybody believes, every problem has a solution and after being professionals, it's not so nice to see good guys fighting against each other in one of the biggest forums in the Web world.
If this problem had continued, either devnetwork.net or devnetwork2.net will not become so popular than the older devnetwork.net...as I reiterate again it's only the community/ppl here who make this forum big and of great success.

Atleast from this date, the forum should have common rules that powers should be shared for both administrators and moderators and nobody can change this rule on their own again.

I do not really think that feyd and others should continue running devnetwork2.net as it would create confusions among the new visitors and each forum would have far less visitors than it should be and it would be difficult for seniors to reply for both forums and the expected many overheads.

Feyd and others should really be happy to see the enormous support from existing forum members and you can see their affection towards seniors from the polls.

Alright,,,it's good that all are united back again and lets develop devnetwork community...cheers

He didnt. Jason (the board owner) came in, and recovered control of the hosting account (McGruff changed Jason's password) , and Jason demoted McGruff to regular member, and re-instated key admins.

McGruff simply got the ol' smackdown put on him by the board owner.. wasn't his doing to reinstate the mods

I would like to thank Jason. He has been mostly absent here for quite a time, but came in time.

Thanks for your support. It's great to be back.

Unfortunately it wasn't McGruff who reinstated the moderators (and members) who were banned, Jason (The daomin owner) had to contact *his* own host to get access to the server since he had been locked by these events shall we say. He has given admin rights back to feyd who has now rectified the situation as well as removing McGruff from his administrative role.

We're not sure exactly what will happen with D2 but we'll be discussing it.

Thanks again :)

Just to be clear, there was never any question of "locking Jason out". Although he hasn't been around for a while and is hard to get hold of, it's his site and ultimately he has the final say. I tried to keep him informed as best I could and passed on the new password as soon as it was requested.

It shoud never have been changed and you should never have been as irrational as you were.

I can't believe you have the nerve to even come back here after the way you behaved.

Oh well. Enjoy the new title, skipper.

Reading this thread is like being in a playground.

You all sound like three year-olds.

After what's happened, and the discussion on respect, I can't believe I'm reading comments like 'you're an asshat' and 'I can't believe you have the nerve to even come back here after the way you behaved.'

Come on, shiny new moderators, do your jobs.
