another thread got quite off topic but this is somthing i would like to know, how much does a beer cost for you where you live? 1 beer = 0.5 liters (nobody knows what a "pint" is, please) and please post in USD so everyone can understand.
In estonia:
at the store - $0.75
at the bar - $1.54 to $2.70 (depending on where you go)
this is for estonian beers for the most part although some imports like carlsburg get the same price. but when it comes to estonian beer, i dont think you can beat it.

From the shop: about $1.37
At the bar: Don't know. We do get anything but pints over here.
A pint is 551 ml, and costs about £2.25 on average. That's £2.07 for 500 ml, which is $3.50. Phew!
Remeber, though, we get more beer in our 500ml than the rest of Europe (and the US) get in their 500ml

Pint Prices
At the "neighborhood dive" bar around the corner:
Happy Hour-
-> Coors, Miller and Budweiser = $1.75
Non-happy hour-
-> Coors, Miller and Budweiser = $2.25
At a "popular dive" bar:
-> Close to $3.00
Gettin' bent over at TGI Friday's:
-> In between $6.00 - $7.00
Beers Worth Mentioning (that I've had, in no particular order)
- Shiner Bock (Texas, USA)
Guinness (Ireland)
Newcastle (England)
Coors Light (Colorado, USA)
Arrogant Bastard Ale (California, USA) <yes, it's really called that, google it>
Stone Pale Ale (California, USA)
Stone Smoke Porter (California, USA)
Reaper Ale (California, USA)
This is my list of favorite poisons although, like most people, I'll drink just about anything.

Wait a sec, whoa whoa whoa... is that a problem?

It's about:
16oz = .47 liters
and your average bottle goes for $6-$7 for a six pack so about $1 a bottle. In a bar though it's easily $2 a bottle.
Edit: a bottle is only 12oz I'm told here (or so)

Stuttgart, Germany:
1 pint (0.5 L) = $1.16 of good (German) beer (Beck's/Warsteiner/etc.) at the store
1 pint (0.5 L) = $4.60 of imported beer at a bar (Guiness/Newcastle/etc.)
1 pint (0.5 L) = $3.54 of German beer at a bar
For cheapskates (

), there's also something called "Radler", which is beer with lemonade, which can be bought at as low as $2 for a six-pack.

In Ukraine:
at the store - ~0.60$
at the bar ~1$ - 2$
for ukrainian beer. Prices for imported beers (usually czech) are much higher.

Ireland. Small island country in Western Europe (some people forget where we are - it's a small place

)
Over here we deal in Euros - 3.50 to 4.00 for a pint of stout, about the same for lager. The translation to USD does not make it look any better believe me...
Expensive little island...

A little more explanation:

I see what you mean. But that's still not entirely true! Here in Germany, we get as much beer in our pint! Albeit only in English/Irish pubs, but still!

Manchester, UK:
Note: If I'm drinking lager, it's more than likely a pint of Kronenbourg
In the off-license: ~£1.00 a pint == $1.70 ish

In the pub: ~£2.70 == $5.00 ish
In a nightclub: Slightly more than in the pub (if you buy bottles then you just get ripped off)
If I'm drinking beer I only drink real ales. I hate those John Smiths/Boddingtons etc etc crap. They're usually in the same price range as the lagers but I seem to be struggling for decent real ale pubs in Manchester
PS: Anyone lived in Manchester longer than me (3 months) wants to lemme know where I can get a decent hand-pulled real ale shoot
