streaming video and audio

how do i do streaming video and audio on a website, like person to person webcam and audio? i imagine it will have to invlove a java applet but does anyone know of any that i could use?

I know you can do it with Java yes... not sure on the applets available but I guess google may turn up results (d11 will edit post to include links).

Macromedia also have their own software if you don't mind paying for it.... I believe it's called Breeze.

Maybe your not wanting to pay for it, but I use camfrog on 2 dating sites I manage. If you look around you will find many others but they are really way to much money for what they do or they are resource hogs. camfrog is 200 buck per server which support 1000 streams and it does it better than any other cam type chats I have found! You can get a free server version that supports 10 streams / users! It's only for Windows servers, I use it because there is nothing better for the type services I am running. I try to keep all my main content on my Linux servers, but having tried well over 100 different video chats for Linux, none worked as well as this one, plus the client options are really nice. I get more signups now because everyone likes the video chat. I myself think it's dumb, but as long as my members like it, all is well!

Breeze is nice, yes. I've never heard of Camfrog so I'll research that a bit. Sounds like a good deal.
