We all know from your handle you're a MK nut. Anything else (read: not Mortal Kombat)? :)

I liked Killer Instinct out of the old school fighting games.

If we're talking about real old school, then Jet Set Willy rocked hard, as did Elite, Populous, Gravity Power (Gravity Force II) Cannon Fodder, Sensible Soccer, Xenon 2, Golden Axe, Super Skidmarks, Super Stardust and many, many more.

I don't want to brag or nothing, but my hands got so used to the button combos in UMK3, I was able to summon nether demons to slaughter whole lines of willing victims. UMK3 FTW.

But if we are going old-school, I gotta trot out StarControl2. No game has ever gotten me to play for *36* hours straight, with only bathroom breaks and a quick visit to the fridge to interrupt it. Truly inspiring gameplay and story.

Sensible Soccer

Something I remember playing as Queens Park Rangers on the Commodore 64...;) Golden Axe (probably the later sequel) I remember from school days, played the entire game when it was available at an amusement arcade.

Sorry, Roja, that was NOT a brag? ;)

Sensi on the C64?

I thought it only came out on the 16bit machines?

Bragging would be saying that I could beat the team that coded the game.

I'm not saying that, because I never got the chance to play em. But summoning nether demons? Yeah, not a problem. That game rocked.

What are you talking about?! :shock:

The best oldschool (well... '93 is pretty old) fighting game evar: Virtua Fighter I. That game rocked.

Now, I don't want to brag either, but I got so good at playing the game I whizzed passed all the opponents every time. Did that about 20 times within a week and then got bored. And beat the end boss, who was pretty hard. All using Jackie or whatever that blond guy's name was. Booyah! :P

3-D games make me motion sick. Can't play them. But I can play most strategy games. Right now my fav is The Battle for Middle Earth.

I recommend trying Dawn Of War - it's super-awesome.

But no Civ players? You...heretics! ;)
Sensi on the C64?
You're right, mixing up names. The game I had on the C64 was "Fantastic Soccer". You can imagine what the graphics were like...;)

I have never played any rpg games (other than the diablo series which most would not qualify as rpg)...my reason:

I KNOW for a fact that should I ever get involved in such a game, I would never EVER want to get off my pc...we'll call that neverwanttoleave.

with neverwanttoleave == wifenothappy

the end result would be burritogetsdivorced

therefore

neverwanttoleave == burritogetsdivorced

with burritogetsdivorced the natural conclusion is burritosnothappy

so in conclusion

neverwanttoleave == burritosnothappy

'tis why I don't play rpgs...it's bad enough with my fps and rts habits, playing rpgs would certainly only lead to disaster.
