Do the linux users here have favorite kde themes? If so, what are they?

nuoveXT: http://nuovext.pwsp.net/

I used to like Umicons but it's a bit clunky and hard to make out I think.

How do you use that, then?

I've downloaded it, now what do I do?

Well that one is just an icon set.... I set my own themes up by using combinations of stuff.

To use the icon set:

"K" Button --> Control Center --> Appearance/Themes --> Icons --> Add new then browse for the bz2 (or gz) file. Should work fine.

I'm using mtaskbar as with kicker (the bar at the bottom) since it supports transparency. Google for mtaskbar along with your distro since they seem to all have slightly different ways to set it up (I think). Then I just have a gradient behind mtaskbar that looks a bit like vista.

With the exception of browsing the internet and using graphics apps/office tools I spend my time in command line.

IMO, you get things done faster, it's lighter and it's just more satisfying. Even playing music etc is done on CLI :) Gotta love linux.

The "Redmond" theme. You want to know why? Because it's the lightest, and the computers at my uni are so damn slow and lack RAM it's not even funny.

:P Well if you want "light" you could always use fluxbox, evilwm or enlightenment :)

I'm pretty novice when it comes to linux, especially settings (they're a mess IMO). But thanks for the tip, anyway. I'll see if I can do something about it!
