Bringing this thread back to it's roots, I suggest looking up articles on the web about FF and IE. Share the articles with your boss. Specifically show him articles where web designers use multiple browsers as tools. If that still doesn't do it: code to standards, and keep the layout simple. The Ninja Space Goat wrote: My boss won't let me use firefox because he can't spy on me when it is open... I am a webdesigner. I need to be able to test sites in all browsers. I could wait a month for complaints to roll in that sites aren't coming out right in firefox, or I could just show him now. I haven't searched long and hard. I asked one question at one site. I hate IE I want to use firefox. Don't look for negative in everything. Just answer the damn question or don't post in my thread.

Bosses like numbers.
Tell him you risk alienating as much as 10% of your customer base by not testing on Firefox.
Tell him that IE has 21 unpatched vulnerabilities that, if exploited, could compromise your business' network & operations. While Firefox has 3 unpatched vulnerabilities, none of them permit execution of arbitrary code.
Tell him that a little extra time spent testing now translates into more time saves time spent putting out fires later.
Mention "synergy" and/or "paradigms" for flavor.

Already been done. (With exception to the mentioning of paradigms and synergy). He's not a very reasonable person. He can not spy on my activity with FF, so it is out of the question. Irritating.RobertPaul wrote:Bosses like numbers.
