Quoting

Am I the only person that finds reading the same thing over and over again quite irritating?
Is there any nettiquette on quoting?
I understand that this is a linear and not a threaded forum by even so, aren't
posts like this a bit, well, daft?

I automatically skip anything that is quoted, and go straight to the post.

I only quote when I'm refering to something specific or refering to something not in the last post.

Yeah, me too. If I'm referring to the immediately previous post I don't quote.
If it's one orior to that I do to avoid confusion.
(i.e. I didn't quote in this post. heh, heh.)

If it's that small, it doesn't bother me at all.
But when it's longer posts it's annoying. When it's more than 5-6 quotes deep, it's slightly annoying. And also when someone quotes the entire intial post when they respond first, that has to annoy me the most.
The first two I mentioned are useful in a way, but that last one is just flat out unnecessary...
But I really don't mind that much. It takes what, like a millisecond longer to scroll past the reply? No biggie.

If anything, I use it as an "RE:" just to indicate which post, or more, whose post I am refering to

May I ask why this is annoiying? (im serious) ... I seriously don't see why something as simple as quoting could be annoiying

I think it's pretty awsome, to respond directly to Jcart I don't know what he's talking about. Helps me see what's going on clearer.

Even though I find this extremely funny, enough quoting already!
