Ye' old general discussion board. Basically, for everything that isn't covered elsewhere. Come here to shoot the breeze, shoot your mouth off, or whatever suits your fancy.
This forum is not for asking programming related questions.

Well, it sounds like I was by far not alone.

As Charles256 mentions, I enjoy discussing programming with other developers. Its really cool to have a quick im saying "Hey, can you check out my latest redesign", and get an answer.

Unfortunately, a few bad apples ruins the bunch.

Jenk hits the nail on the head - people should use the forums more, and IM less. You get more people helping, faster, you give the gift of time for responses, and you get multiple points of view.

Just look at OOP or even html compliance. Ask about either on these forums, and you'll get a dozen approaches, ranging for "IT MUST BE 100%", to "Feh. I could care less". And with those approaches, you'll also get plenty of advice on how to code appropriately and effectively following that approach.

Many brains > One brain.

But I guess in hindsight, the very people that we're complaining about, are the ones that wouldn't understand that simple concept. :(

It just sucks.. I really like putting my contact info out because you never know when the next John Carmack might be starting out, asking questions.
