Apparently being annoying on the internet is now illegal
While surfing through my diggs of the day I found this little gem:

Apparently being annoying on the internet (an opinion in itself) is now illegal and punishable as a fine or up to two years in jail. o.0 Last I heard, being annoying in real life was only a swirlie and/or being locked in your locker.

Sadly, that is why we have so many warning stickers on many products. I personally, am all for Darwinian evolution in these matters. If Jimmy decides to insert his hand into a running lawmower blade, so bit it. Common sense should tell you that will not end pretty.
Because someone won a lawsuit or five against the manufacturers for making such a "dangerous" object, they now have to place stickers on them warning idiots, prolonging their existance. The average intelligence in the US is quite low compared to most countries.. look at our television.. mostly full of crap. Hundreds of channels to watch but nothing really worth watching at any given time.
This reminds me of the stupidity I found a while ago when Amazon patented "one-click," or many of the other more recent common sense level patents that have been awarded without any merit and gobs of previous art.
Anyways, to answer a somewhat rhetorical question, yes, American is generally filled with idiots. There I said it.. now come and get me!

Bush, of course, didn't like Congress passing a law banning torture so, when he signed it, he attached a disclaimer saying that he didn't have to follow the new law that he was signing.Clinton realized that the section of the law punishing abortion-related material on the Internet was unconstitutional, and he directed the Justice Department not to enforce it.
I did not click the article but this was slashdotted the other day, whatever article they had there stated it pertains to anonymous posts online and it's also probably at the site-owners discretion. Their logic follows as such that if someone can be punished for harassing on the phone then such the same should be for online. - the difference they neglected to look at (or rather didn't bother to) is on a phone they are calling you, the fact that your phone is ringing can't be avoided in a passive manner, if I don't like what you said online I don't have to read it. I think their way of viewing it however is that you're vandalizing the site you are posting "annoying" things on, it's just another stupid law - taking away from our basic rights... nothing new, move along

Those tags say prohibited by law to remove except by consumer, so go ahead... live on the wild side, remove that tagneophyte wrote:God forbid any of us from removing our mattress tags!
