I have a wireless router with my laptop connected wirelessly and my pc connected with cat5. I can play a network game on Age of Empires II if both are connected with wires, but it doesn't seem to work when my laptop is connected wireless. Does anybody know why?

the amount of bandwidth given to a wireless connection is often inferior to that given to a wired connection.

Yes, this is true, but that wasn't why. (The game isn't real intensive). I'm not sure what was wrong, but it's working now. Thanks anyway though.
BTW... I like the new avatar.

I often play very intensive games via wireless network, and it runs as good as it would when directly connected. Mind you, I'm 1.5 feet from my wireless router

Alot of people have problems gaming over wireless. I must be a lucky one, I played FPS online via a wireless-b network for years. I'm about 20 metres away from my router, upstairs and at the other side of my house. My walls are also super thick as the house is 100+ years old.
Mind you, my wireless network is totally insecured

[...oh look I can see you with your laptop outside my house!].
...but a couple of months ago I stuck a 30m cable in my router, tied it to a tennis ball, threw it over my house and pulled it through the window and I've never looked back, it's about 10x faster
Also, my wireless-g laptop adapter seems to be alot faster than my wireless-b adapter, even though my router is wireless-b
