Ye' old general discussion board. Basically, for everything that isn't covered elsewhere. Come here to shoot the breeze, shoot your mouth off, or whatever suits your fancy. This forum is not for asking programming related questions.
I'm guessing that almost immediately after hitting the Windows XP logo, it hibernates? Therefore, I'm going to guess this is a laptop. In which case, I will prescribe that you need to force your battery to lose it's memory. This often requires special utilities, but some bios systems have them built in. Worst case, you need to get a new battery or replace the computer.
Does it hibernate when it is plugged in?
Try pulling the battery out and try it.
If you have access to another compatible battery try it with that one.
What did you do on your system that might have triggered this? I'm talkin installations, removals, odd error messages, accidental file deletions, etc, etc.
