In the UK? How much is your broadband?

I'm moving house next month so I'm scooting around for ADSL broadband at my new address. I've been with a few providers in the UK in the past but they don't seem to offer as good prices as they did a while back.
I'm just digging for reccomendations for some of the less heard of ones really

Anything over 1Mbit (I'm not a big downloader, nor will the girls I'm living with be). Uncapped would be a bonus in case I do ever need to download something. The other thing is that I might only be at the other address for 6 months so I can't really doa yearly contract

Quite demanding aren't I?

no cable into my house and BT keeps screwing up the phone line so no internet at home, sniff, I was with supanet until recently, offered a good price for unlimited broadband, usb/adsl, but the slowly started to jack the price up. Service is crap and always blamed my computer for the problem even though everytime is was it turned out to be a problem with their connections.
So looking forward to any suggestions as well.

BT .. £27.99 for 512kb. If I weren't so utter lazy I'd change it, but I'm moving soon so I can't be bothered.

Bulldog 2MB (8Mb) down, .5MB (2Mb) up + free calls anywhere in the UK at any time: £48.
Er, but they're only availible in London (I think).

No we have Bulldog around Manchester too... people I know who are on it aren't too impressed though. 8Mbit... in reality they only get about 2Mbit on the line. They also seem to go down a lot

£26.99 pcm 1mb with Nildram (now owned by Pipex) yet to suffer from a fault that is anything bigger than a random disconnect, for the last 4 years

Interesting.
In London I regually get 10Mbit download speeds, and the only time I noticed them being down was when my area was offline for about 12 hours.
I got a month free for that.
I cannot recommend Bulldog (well, the London Bulldog) enough.

Good customer service too. The past couple of time's we've had to call them they've bent over backwards to help, known exactly what they were talking about and were never quick to say "It must be a problem with you/your machine/your network/your router" unlike a certain hosting company I've moaned about recently.

Probably you meant: 8Mb/1MB and 2Mb/0.25MB
You guys got pretty fast cables, I'm on 256Kb only.

But it never disconnects and I constantly get 256Kb during the day time and 4x that after 12pm
