Rumblebox - free game, quite entertaining every now and then. Don't play any games apart from that.

I used to be addicted to a Half Life mod called Team Fortress Classic. I used to play like 10 hours a day.

I played Eve Online. It was probably the most addicting game I ever played (which is why I had to quit playing it). Back in the day I played counter strike a lot, but now I just work.

I used to be a really huge CS fan, me and all my friends would have lan parties at my house just about every weekend. We found a way to fit 12 computers in my 1 room so it was awesome but after I moved to Estonia my desire to play died because it really is not as fun without playing with people you know personally.

Some of the most serious thinkers I've met are in the game industry. John Carmack, for example..
Serious isn't mutually exclusive with gaming.
