Name that tune please

Post by alex.barylski »

I'm finally stumped and cannot find the song I am looking for on Google because the only lyric that I remember is something like: "Spirit of the west".

And whenever I search for that on Google I get nailed by the band Spirit of the West

The song i'm looking for is NOT by the band (pretty sure anyways) but just some lyrics in the song I heard at the bar the other day...

It's more country rock like in sound as opposed to celtic like the actual band SOTW.

Does anyone know what song I'm refering to???

Cheers

I don't know what it is you said, but you sparked a segment of the lyrics in my head...I did another search or or ten and found it!!!

Not "Spirit of the West", but "Spirit in the sky"...

No wonder I couldn't find it

Sweet...

Ah, Norman Greenbaum. Oldie but a goodie.
Real programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.

As in #Going on up to the Spirit in the sky,
That's where I wanna go when I die#...

How do you mistake 'sky' for 'west'? :)

I was obliterated at the bar :P

All I remembered was that one lyric in my head...

To bad the Internet didn't have a "Hum...that tune" cause I could remember that correctly, just not the lyrics :)

that would be an incredibly awesome program though. Something that had a database of songs and you could just hum into a microphone and it would compare to similar samples

It would be neat *rushes to write application before anyone else...now that his idea has been exposed*

Similar to Shazam in the UK

Dial 2580 on your mobile...hold the phone to the music source.

Then 30 seconds later, you get a text message telling you the title and the artisit of the song
