PHPDN/Firefox cookies?

Post by Skittlewidth »

I generally keep PHPDN open all day long, and at the moment its the only thing running in FireFox on my desktop.

Since around last week I've had my Spyware blocker (PcTools Spyware Doctor) popping up every five minutes or so saying its blocked a cookie coming through Firefox from adviva.net.

Since PHPDN doesn't run adverts and its the only thing that's open in Firefox at the time, where is this cookie coming from?

Assuming Firefox is your default browser - maybe spyware?

It's not my default browser, and a thorough spyware and virus check only turned up 1 dodgy file that appeared to be a .gif. (not that I believe any virus or anti spyware program is anywhere near 100% effective.
Maybe that was it, I don't know. Anyway, it hasn't reported the cookie again since just over an hour ago.

I just wanted to check that PHPDN wasn't up to something fishy...what with this google takeover and all

Of course I know it was an april fool....what do you take me for?!
