Well, you just guaranteed I won't ever visit, and neither will the majority of the devs on Blacknova Traders, or the Yahoo blind gamers group, or...

Way to tell a huge potential part of your already tiny audience that you don't care!
To be brutally honest, I agree with Roja. Standards are the absolute minimum anyone should ever consider.

It has one validation error - the atom feed link is not closed. ;) Would be nice if the site expanded to fill the browser window - I'm on 1024*768 resolution. If any text content is to be added (e.g. articles, news, etc.) a slightly larger font would be more readable. Minor error - URI's contain a double forward slash after the domain.

Just a few comments by way of feedback...

Any plans for a forum? Make it easier to discuss the site and how people can lend some help.

Crap how did i miss that? :S (i validated before adding the RSS and Atom links)

Hmm, ill give it a go, but i dont think its gonna be easy :), i might just make a new 'liquid' site, based on the current.

advice noted, and will be taken.

To start, I like the layout. Now on to business:

* Add a projects "blog" section, like sourforge but without all the complicated links. A simple one page layout should be all you really need. Have an admin section for project developers that can update a news or blog area and also update the downloads section. A ratings section would also be nice (1 - 5 stars?)

* Articles section, this is obvious. Should be sortable by category (login and authentication, database structure, speed tweaks, etc.)

* Demo of the week/month - Once a month install a game on the server that is voted best of the best. Since this is just a developer site it shouldn't matter that everything will be gone in a month/week. This is also a good test of installation programs built for programs :) (i.e. This game WAS going to be game of the month but we couldn't install it, due to bugs in the code!)

* Ranking of inactivity and automatic removal. I'm tired of searching SF or freshmeat for games and finding a ton of games with a high activity rating because people accidentaly downloaded it thinking it was popular but instead hasn't been touched in 3 years. A simple ranking like "active" "inactive" "dead" and "removed" would do just fine I think.

* Searchable downloads (this goes with the idea stated above). I wouldn't mind being able to search on a very small detail list (like name, release date, development stage) like http://www.mpogd.com does theirs. It allows me to see a whole list and quickly sort out genres, release and the like.

* Developer profiles, link to their projects, a small description, etc.

Just a few ideas out of my hat :)

Please be aware that you're not speaking on my behalf.
That's an insanely snobbish attitude to have.

If anyone was offended, I appologize. Your right, I should not have spoken on behalf of others.

In my defence, purposefully not taking into account the mentally or physically challenged, who rely on standards is not the best attitude.

I don't know that I can completely agree.

While he shouldn't have spoken in the collective sense ("our"), he did seem to be on the right track. Jcart, Maugrim, Charles256, and myself all were in general agreement that the approach of asking for community involvement, while snubbing accessibility wasn't a great attitude.

Further, standing up for accessibility is pretty much the opposite of snobbish. Its defending a minority, while snobbery is being exclusive. If anything, R4000's stance was snobbish, and Jcarts was inclusive.

But I can understand and agree that the tone and the choice to speak for others was non-ideal. That doesn't change the fact that Jcart was dead on, and a large number of community members did agree.
