Whats the next cool invention?

Post by John Cartwright »

I came across this link from another forum, http://www.alpern.org/weblog/stories/20 ... oards.html, and I seriously am just blown away by Projection Keyboards. How cool is that? I wouldn't mind having one of those built into a laptop, atleast it would keep crumbs from falling between the keys :P Aparantly this technology can also be used as a virtual mouse 8O

Do you guys have any inventions that you've come across that you find extraordinary?

Dude, I totally saw one of these things on CSI Miami the other night. In the show a woman was using it to send emails to her blog by way of her PDA phone (which was conveniently hidden under the desk). Sweet. Wish I would have thought of that...

personally I'm looking forward to when solid state drives become mainstream which a few companies are pushing it seems, watched a video of one of them the other day takes like 12 secs to shutdown and reboot the machine from in game in bf2, those new physics chip cards look damn awesome too :D apart from that I live for the day they invent self cleaning clothes using nanotech (I hate wash day) and of course star trek style replicators and transporters, lol

100% couldn't agree more. It's like lets goto the bar but then its like oh man thats like freakin far away...BUT! If you had a teleporter you could just be like BAM beers all around. Then when it was time to go home you could just teleport back to your nice comfy bed instead of stubmling home and getting robbed and hit by cars and arrested like it is now. Thats why we need teleporters!

For the washing clothes stuff, that pile of dirty clothes in the corner is starting to smell but I am waiting for the teleporter to be invented so I don't have to make that long trip to the laundrymat but even then it is a bit of a hassle to actually teleport there and back. The self washing clothes would be the best by far.

Just make sure not to drink and teleport :D Imagine going out to the bar, getting a few good rounds in you and then waking up on the far side the Moon of Endor (not just a different planetary object, a whole different sci-fi movie series altogether!).

Sod teleporters and replicators - you wouldn't need to move or eat when you have the HOLODECK!

Oh, hell yes! One room full of naked Kate Winslets, please!
