So i've had over 1200 unique visitors to my web site since I started promoting it about a week ago...and NOT one single person has inquired about my CMS...

Clearly I am doing something wrong, but I have a fare number of ideas of what to correct...

Not that my CMS was magical, it is however better in design, features and price than my target competitor...

I'd show you who they are, but I'm not sure that would be ethical, so for now I'm leaving them out of the equation...

Seriously though, I purchased their software a while back and a Verion 6...it's pretty poorly designed/developed, etc...

And yet they make killer coin (relative to me)...

Despite my application being better, like I said in features, etc...

It does however lack documentation, etc...and a few other things...

Hard lesson learned I guess...but I think I've decided to make it open source, minus templating and a few other features...this way people can use and see why an upgrade might be a good idea, cuz I clearly cannot articulate ideas in laymen terms...so perhaps it best people figure it out the hard way by building a site first then discovering why templating is better, etc... :)

Besides this is the approach my competitors use...they don't bother with templating...dynamic templating anyways :)

Baaaah...how disheartening...and here I thought it would sell it self...I mean...I know i'm no business man...as I'm to honest and would likely sell a competitors application over mine if I felt it solved the problem better...but...for christ sakes...

Why don't people just give me money already :P

I think street kids make more in a day than I do... no joke...and here's the real kick in the groin...they don't pay taxes...

It's really been one of those days I tells ye...one of those days :)

I've almost completed a CSV class I've been working on today...it's pretty simple, but beats the hell out of using builtin functions...at least it does for me :)

I suppose thats one bright side of today...being Friday and all

Hows your day coming along thus far?

Cheers :)

Why not sell it to your competitors and get money that way?

Honestly...I've considered that...but i'm not sure how they would react...

If it's obvious they might consider pressing some law suit or something against me for copying their UI to some degree...who knows...

Besides...whose to say they won't just offer a single lump payment and expect me to stay away from flat file, templated CMS systems for the next 5 years...

It's obvious I would be a threat...whats taken them 6 years took me only a couple months to develope, thus the reason I sat down and started...it seemed really easy to be selling for much more than free :)

Meh...whatever...i'm a giver not a quiter...i'll keep at this until I get what I want :)

Cheers
