Yes, Google is just that awesome!

Of course... I don't know Java. But now I can't wait to learn. :D

I've actually been waiting for Google's Ajax. However, I think they're playing catch up with Yahoo UI. Google's and Yahoo's approaches couldn't be more different and that is certainly a good thing. Competition. Java adds a big learning curve to Googles Ajax applications and another layer of complexity.

Though I think learning Java is a great idea.

... a Java software development framework that makes writing AJAX applications like Google Maps and Gmail easy for developers who don't speak browser quirks as a second language.
Web developers should be fluent in browser quirks! Like a mechanic should be fluent in oil slicks and bad starteranese.

I would imagine that browser quirks would be easier to understand and learn than java.

I really dislike java, the bloated beast that is way to complicated and requires a thousand libraries just to do something as simple as split a string on different parts and put it into a array (explode();). Nope not a fan, I think Yahoo did it best but I don't even like Ajax as I browser with not javascript so it doesnt even work.

Cool and all but no thanks, ill pass.
