The needles wouldn't have made it to her. Someone else might have been able to (assuming they could make it to her without being destroyed), but most of the mutants that we know that could do so (Juggernaut) were on the same side as her.Hockey wrote:1) Why did wolverine have to kill the phoneix? Why not just poke her with one of those needles??? Why did Wolverine have to do it? Why not someone else?
Besides, it wasn't just his ability to survive her destructive force that made him the right person for the job. Pheonix also was a tiny bit willing to have him come closer - something she wouldn't have done for anyone else.
Definitely not a fan of comics.. most of these have been handled in comics, and you are wrong on almost all of them.Hockey wrote:2) Who would win in a fight? The Phoneix or Superman? Superman is impervious to everything...is faster than anything...stronger than anything...and isn't a mutant, but an alien from another planet...so mind control, like that of Dr. Xavier or Phoneix wouldn't apply to him...
Superman is not impervious to everything. Remember, he *died* from a melee fight. Granted, the creature that killed him ("Doomsday") was a kryptonian alien, and the situation was unique - but he isn't impervious to everything.
Besides, he has been cut, shot, split into two people, burned by lasers, and more all thanks to the miracle of multiple flavors of kryptonite. I'm completely leaving out the damage other kryptonians have been able to do to him.
He is also not stronger than anything. He routinely has lost fights to Metallo, and others.
Also mind control *has* worked on Superman - several times in the comics. Usually there is a catalyst that makes it possible (Magic, Kryptonite, etc), but he has been under mind control before.
Sadly, no. It depends on who he is against, and what they are bringing to the table.Hockey wrote:So I say superman would kick some butt
Consider for example Juggernaut. His power is magical in nature - he isn't a mutant. The magical power makes him TRULY indestructible - as long as he wields the power. Assuming that he fought Superman (different publishers, so its highly unlikely - but for fun..), it would most likely be a standstill, unless one or the other managed to 'cripple' the other using their well-known weaknesses.
Well, once again, you don't know your comics very well.Hockey wrote:Although I've always been a huge fan of the Incredible Hulk...and consider him the strongest and most powerful and oblivious to pain or destruction...
How can you destroy something which cannot be destroyed?
Hulk is by far not the most powerful, and is in NO way oblivious to pain or destruction. The core of the Hulk is Banner. His human side experiences tremendous guilt, remorse, and more at the actions of the Hulk. He absolutely feels pain, and that humanity - despite his incredible powers - are what make him an incredible character.
But ignoring Banner, even the Hulk in Hulk form has plenty of peers that can easily outdo him. Silver Surfer doesn't do well hand-to-hand in brute force, but his abilities have allowed him to beat Hulk more than once. Similarly, Thor smacked him down a few times - hand to hand.
Even Spiderman beat Hulk - twice!
Hulk is by far not the most powerful, and does often feel pain. He can definitely be destroyed.
Thats not to say he is in any way diminished by that fact. Its not about which character is "the most uber", its about the story.
And when it comes to story (this is my opinion only), its a very close tie in the Marvel world between Doctor Strange, and Wolverine.
But thats a whole different flame war.
