I agree, and disagree, both at the same time. (Ever the dipomat!)

I'm fairly new here (though I've made to the lofty rank of "Developer" now...) and I've already said this in response to the "skill-level Forums" thread in the Suggestions forum. Sometimes I think that when someone posts a question like "How do I use variables in a string?" they deserve shooting/dismembering. In that respect, the fact that people answer means that they are being too nice. The answer should be "RTFM". On the other hand, there do seem to be a lot of very blunt answers to more complex questions, or answers that have been written without really reading the question properly - which, even though technically correct - don't give much insight to the user on how to implement the functionality. In this respect, the community could also be seen as being rude.

Personally, however, I like this community - but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I spend more time trying to answer questions than asking them. If I were on the end of some of the "ruder" responses, I'd not have hung about as long.

In short - thumbs up.
