yahoo! store

Post by Burrito »

has anyone ever made a site for the yahoo! store? At my new employment they are asking me to work with an existing site that uses yahoo! store pretty heavily and it's a complete POS IMO.

As far as I can tell (after weeding through some of the documentation), the products are not dynamically shown on any pages. You have to create separate HTML pages for each product (AND product categories). You CAN however include some 'special' yahoo! tags that dynamically insert images, prices, product titles etc on the page. This is all good if I ever want to change my image or price of an item, but why should I have to create 260+ separate html pages for each individual product?

am I missing something large here? I really hope so. If any of you know about this or have ever worked with it, I'd love to be corrected on this....

Welcome to the snicker joy that is yahoo store. They have always looked and worked like, well, crap.. and I think they may always do so until they can put something better together. The problem is, they aren't designed for us, but for people that don't get "it."
