Then I guess you've never been to the SitePoint forumsJcart wrote:Never heard of those
Edit: I didn't mean that the people on SitePoint get paid to post there... What I meant was: On SitePoint, there are a lot of posts from people who offer you to work for them and get paid for posting on their forums.

I've heard of "host for post's" before, where you get free web hosting for being active on a forum, but I can't imagine someone bankrolling a bunch of people to post. I would be concerned about how legitimate it is and whether or not they would actually pay me, and even if they did pay it probably wouldn't be worth the time.

Sounds like those loser Spam Posting companies trying to hire people to go around to as many forums as they can find to post links.
What they do is join a forum and put links into their user profile. Those links generate hits for search engines to raise the rankings of those linked sites in search engines like Google. I added a mod to PHPBB2 that I wrote that disables the display of ALL profile information like web url, location, occupation, hobbies, etc until the user has made a certain number of posts. That stops that type of link spammer cold.
Then after they create an account in the forum they will find a little used forum that no one has posted to for a long time and post a message FILLED with links to various sites.
These people get paid for every forum account they create and every link post they make.
This sounds like this guy is looking for a job doing that kind of crap. The people hired to do that either get a list of random email accounts or create a bunch of random email accounts on services like mail.ru. We have basically banned everyone from our forums with a mail.ru email account.
