New in PHP

hello.

Im getting started in PHP, and i would like to now a few things....
First i have to install apache and then php right?



And the what is the best editor for php?

Correct you have to install apache then php.

I use Zend studio. There are some good free ones out there like phpdesigner . There is alot more but i have not tried them.

apache or iis is good to run php. apache is easier to setup php on.

i like komodo (debugger *glee*) but it's not free nor cheap so go with what they said above.

if you are on windows get WAMP because it's really easy to install and understand where your HTDOCS are. XAMPP isn't bad but it breaks easy. do not expect to install either as a real webserver BUT they are perfect to develop on. make sure to test on Macs and *nix boxes as well tho
