i just have to say

that you bloaks rule. i'm a dirty stinkin' american (GO AMERICA!!!!) and i have to say that the people in the UK that did this board (from what i've gathered so if i'm wrong don't flame me lol) rule. really

it's under control
it's calm
no flaming
user help is superb
user help is always through
the moderators are great and internet professional

thing about this is that on other forums they seem to get into flame wars even if a question is asked by a new guy after new guy. i like the fact even if it happens you are polite and say 'hey, go over here'. well, something to that extent lol. and mods/admins help as well as NOT be dicks. on some forums they think they are all powerful when it's really just an AIM thing

also, the non flaming. i LOVE that. that's the worst thing in a forum and on any forum that i'm on if i so happen to be a mod i squash it REAL quick.

and the help is so quick. i mean if i ask a question someone is always willing to help. i LOVE that. if i go on Zen-Cart forums it might take a day or two before i can ever get a reply if i don't bump it. hard questions (like the stuff that i always end up asking) never gets answerd for days if not more. it's really aggrivating. but on here i don't have to even wait a day. it seems like forever for me but tha'ts because i'm on here and another forum ALL DAY lol. but i love the fact that i get a response so quick

you guys rule

oh, and OT is great as well. (OT=> Off Topic)

I'm mayeb in the wrong, but wasn't this community started by Jason or whatever???

Isn't he in Quebec or Montreal or something???

Wouldn't that make this Canadian? :P

In anycase, it's truely a global effort...with Feyd being state side and Chris(D11) being across the pond and others from around the world...

I would say...totally global effort, although likely favored as an American site...as most regulars are likely south of the 49th...

Yeee Hawww :P

I completely agree, and it's a nice change from most other sites. Thanks to everyone who's a part of it.

i agree that this is a great community

i used to be a huge troll and am usually able to turn a rather peaceful forum into a trench war in only a few moments. i haven't tried here but my point is that i see none of that going on here. most people are professional and curteous, especially the moderators.

thanks everyone

This community is the best. I agree with everything you guys are saying, except...

Jason Lotito put these boards together originally as part of the PHP Developers Network. That, I believe was intended to be a network of web sites directed at PHP developers. Members of the network are PHPComplete, PHPMac, PHPClasses, PHPDeveloper and, at the time of founding, Evil Walrus (now OO-Pear, I believe). While each of the member sites has continued to grow independent of PHPDN, the forums that we enjoy everyday are the largest portion of the Network. I think.

Just to prevent apples from being thrown (they hurt like hell when caught in the kisser) I'll repeat..."global effort" :P

I dub this day 'International DevNet Appreciation Day'.

we shall celebrate by enjoying a 100 grand bar (or skor if you prefer) at exactly 12:00 noon GMT.
