For those of you old enough to answer...and in the interest of another thread of mine in T & D...
What is your favourite beer and why, how would you describe it?
I'm not a alchohol drinker who enjoys it's taste I drink to get drunk and that's it...
But I can tell difference between beers, just regardless I dislike them...
So as I was saying to timvw in my other thread, before I decided to just start a new topic...
I find most Canadian beers (as there are a few and many taste different) are crisp...leaving a sharp taste in my mouth whereas US beer's like Budweiser...
Actually thats' hard to explain seeing how I find Bud tastes like Coors, which tastes like Molson Canadian...
Heineken, has almost a Corona taste to it...I want to say it's tastes green, but I'm unsure if a color can have flavour...
Irish beers, like Kilkenny and Guiness...are thick and the head on those beers is *crazy*...
Is it true the English drink their beers warm???
Yuck...I think I would puke...I hate warm beer...
MGD has an interesting...sweet wine like taste I find...so only about 8-10 before I start feeling sick...
Kokannee for those whove had it...is IMHO the best beer...it's smooth...doesn't burn to bad when coming up

and it's crispy, clear and goes down good when cold...
Although admittedly Bud has some of the coolest commercials...makes me want to drink Bud, but I hate the taste...so I only drink it if I have too...
Anyone else just a casual juice bag like me or do you actually enjoy one or two beers on a hot day? Personally I'd prefer a juice or water...if I drink I might as well go for broke and get drunk
Just figured we needed a topic like this today, being Sunday and all

I like Old English because it's strong and doesn't taste like 211, bahaha. Otherwise I like this Japanese beer called Asahi (sp?) i think..
I also like Rolling Rock.

Guinness, thus far is the only beer I enjoy. Why? Not sure. To be honest, I generally hate the flavor of most beers. Now, if you want to talk hard alcohols... I'll generally prefer the oft categorized more-girlie drinks. So long as the alcohol is hidden so I can't really taste it, I'll enjoy it more, so pile in the fruit and flavors, I'm game.

I prefer 'Duvel' for the taste... When i go out with friends we usually order Jupiler or Stella...
And when i'm in Dublin i can really appreciate a Guiness (but only when i'm in dublin... If it's brewed elswhere i just don't like it... It reminds me of chocomilk instead of beer :p)

Definitely Bud Light...
The more watered down the better. I hate any beer that you have to chew and Miller has that nasty spunk bite to it. I do like woodchuck cider, but you can't get drunk on those without getting a headache from the sugar. But my opinion is worthless since I drink maybe once a year. I live a boring life. Plus, former Mayor's shouldn't be seen too much drinking in public.

The Japanese have beer? No way...that's awesome
I've always wanted to try Saki/Soki???
Isn't that like booze and snakes blood??? Whoa imagine the trip after that one...
OE??? OMG are you serious...?
It comes in a massive bottle, cheap as borchte and tastes like chilled urine (not that I know what <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> tastes like) and it's consumed by the homeless
Sorry dude, but not even being a beer drinker (one who genuinely enjoys it anyway) and I know OE is yuck!!!
Cheers

Nice to know i'm not the only one...
I can't dirnk those though, it would ruin my image
I do enjoy drinks like those, yes, so the taste is hidden...
Malibu Pineapple is what I used to drink at the bars...until friends bug me so much, calling me a girl, etc...I finally just started drinking beer...
Now after about 6 years of beer...I must say...I don't get sick dirnking beer...whereas puking on Malibu Pineapple or Vodka Orange...
Sweet drinks give me such bad gutt rott and when you puke it stings like crazy...
Anything but beer I go hard shots...striaght up Jack Daniels with a chaser of water...

Never even heard of those beers...
Problem is, anything but popular imports like Guiness, Heineken, etc...are like 10 bucks a beer...so not many people drink imports, except maybe during the multicultural events in the city during summer...
I'm getting a headache just thinking about beer...maybe I shouldn't have started this topic...

That's perfect...that's exactly what it is...
It's spunky, like leaves an almost mary jane/skunk taste in my mouth...neither of which I enjoy, that's why I don't like MGD...
Dude your the man...I've always looked for a way to describe that beer...and that soo works...!!!
Awesome

Sake...thats it
I would never think the Japanese would be beer drinkers...I figured more like the Russians, drinking hard booze, like Vodka, etc...
Ever tried Sake? is it seriously snakes blood? Not sure if I could stomach that...
I've heard you halucinate...for a short period of time...
There is another hard booze...Absynthe(sp??) which is your drink the booze while being filtered by a sugar cube, supposedly you just go right bonkers for a good 10-15 minutes...
Not sure I'd want to halucinate...with my luck I'd jump through a window or have a heart attack...

More watered down???
What would be the purpose of that?
Why not drink non-alchoholic beer from safeway???
Or just drink juice or water...unless you enjoyed the taste of booze...
Not sure if your state side, but in that case I guess you can buy beer at your local quicky mart???
When I was in Texas, the gas station was like a beer vendor, liquor store, conveince store and maybe even a gun gallery...It was very interesting expeirence for me
Cigarettes still tasted like Cigars though

I think that some Sake can do that to you but Sake is just rice alcohol.
Speaking of liqour, I used to drink tons of schnapps and vodka but I can't do hard stuff anymore because of lots and lots of bad stuff that happend lol.

I don't think the Japanese are famous for it, though you did think of Sake.
Hockey wrote:Ever tried Sake?
I've had many, from simple and fairly cheap, to smooth and expensive.
Hockey wrote:is it seriously snakes blood? Not sure if I could stomach that...
It's a rice alcohol, like Daedalus said.
Hockey wrote:I've heard you halucinate...for a short period of time...

Maybe on really bad Sake, but I have yet to do so. Absynthe is more likely to cause halucinations.

filtered through sugar can make it nicer for some, I've yet to try it. I have seen it run through burning sugar too.

Absynthe is nasty. I like Bud Light and drinks as feyd has mentioned.
