my solution for almost every problem is to kill something. My girlfriend says I'm cruel... I don't see it.

The fact of the matter is she wants your time. That will never go away. I have been married for 11 years, we dated for four before that. I have been a developer in some capacity for almost 8 years and never in that time did my wife let me get away with being on the computer too much. She wants to spend time with you (or I should say that she wants you to want to spend time with her instead of your computer).

Bad, bad advice. In California you can actually get arrested for killing someone.

I'm just going to say, tell her to go home or tell her to come over an hour or so after you get home.

Now, when I had a girlfriend, that wasn't me.

My trick is to only sleep 4-6 hours a night. That way I have time away from my girl, my roommates, etc.

I'm single now and now I sleep 3-6 a night and spend all of my time coding. Bus to work, at work, bus to home, at home. lol

Sometimes I do in my sleep too but that's another thread. bahaha

Given the choice between an woman and surfing the web -- I would choose the woman every time. Let's face it ... we all spend too much time on the web and should be among humans more ... especially those of the opposite sex.

I am married with kids, and being single with a girlfriend who wants your time is about as easy as life gets. It will be gone all too soon ... so I would recommend enjoying it as much as you can now ...

George Bernard Shaw - "Youth is wasted on the young."

Henry David Thoreau - "... I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear, nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out the marrow of life ..."

I understand what you are saying here, but because my wife reads over my shoulders at times, I can't agree with you 8O . I will say that married life can be better than dating life if done right. Oh yeah baby, way better...

If you are single with a girlfriend...get up off the computer. If you are on the computer while working and she still gives you crap..then she shouldnt be a girlfriend anymore. Too many other things to do when you are single..take advantage of it.

I didn't say bings young and single was better ... just to enjoy it while you have it. I would agree that being married is better and that having kids takes life to a completely different level.
