Daedalus

Mason, Inventor, Intellectual, Killer.

He is a fictional character from Greek mythology. He built a dancing-ground for Ariadne and the labyrinth for Kind Minos. He fashioned wings from wax, wood, and feathers to aid his son Icarus and himself in escaping a tower after they were imprisoned there by King Minos.

Icarus died because he flew too close to the sun and the wax melted. Daedalus traveled to the land of Camicus and stayed in the court of it's King, Minos eventually traveled there and found him and was killed by the King's daughters.

It's a long story, Google it.

He was killed his sister's nephew out of jealousy for the boys skill, which he feared would surpass his own.

Daedalus is also the name of the AI that helps you in Deus Ex. There are also references to the name in Macross, Star Trek, and Stargate.

I chose the name because it sounds cool and I like the story of Daedalus.

I think Minotaur would've been better  . Which reminds me, have you ever seen the painting Icarus by Bruegel? Or read the poem 'Musee des Beaux Arts' by WH Auden. Very nice.

The painting
The painting and the poem

Anyhow, my handle comes from the name of my business, Everah Media Services Company. It has a meaning, but I think I might keep that to myself at the moment.

I've always used really stupid, at times offensive names...

About 5-6 years back I learned that a non-offensive name would work better in getting replies and respect...and Hockey was a name which was never taken already, still today even I can usually get away with Hockey...

Besides, I"m Canadian and a Hockey fan...

The additional positive is that I've actually scored contracts with Hockey fans based on the name... :P

My tip of the day for freelancers' :P
