Just caught my boss looking at this at work. Wow!

I guess a few of you have already seen this but it's fascinating to see where everything has evolved from, with most languages tracing right back to fortran :)

they also say:
There is only 50 languages listed in my chart, if you don't find "your" language, see The Language List of Bill Kinnersley (he has listed more than 2500 languages).

it's a shame it isn't text so you can't ctrl-F and find a language, otherwise..nice find :)

If that diagram was a race, PHP would be a close 2nd to C#.

Agreed! Didn't realize how old it was either. It's still kicking!

Geez fortran is old. 50 years. Haha I didn't even know computers were that old! (I don't know my history :oops:) And that amazing part is the it's still in use!
