Yes. But I wonder how easy it will be to prove AOL crossed the borders/law. They did replace the names of their users by a number. So the data was supposed to be anonymous.
However, as is also said in the article, it will not be difficult to find out the identity of many by the searches they made. Smart analysts will add A+B+C. And besides that, how many people search for their own name out of curiosity?
