Too many adds?

Is it just me, or are there others like me who think some sites go a tiny bit too far with their adds?
(nothing personal against the one who created this site - whoever that might be - just used it as an example)

Instead of websites improving with better navigation and UI design, surfing nowadays feels like running through a swamp trying to keep my feet dry. It's like a game: "woohoo try to find the real links".

I thought Google had a limit on how many ads-for-content you were supposed to place on a page (like 4 or something).

shiznatix, are you talking about noscript and adblock for Firefox?

Wondering? Would installing those speed up webbrowsing because for a lot of pages 90% of the normal content would not have to be loaded anymore?
