I've recently seen this in my referrer logs, http://www.c48.com

Like this:
http://www.c48.com/go/http://www.mydomain.com/index.php

All with different pages. I try to go to the site but it is https with login only. No signup link or anything. I googled it but could only get one meaningful result... it seems to be a proxy to bypass places that block some sites from being viewed.

I hope it is this, and not something unknown crawling around on my sites. Is anyone familiar with this website?

Bah, finally found a "signup link", and it had a disclaimer from MegaProxy.com. So, I went there.
Finally, a clientless Web SSL VPN solution that allows you to surf the web more securely and privately anywhere and at anytime from any Internet-enabled location without the complexities of software installations, third-party browser plugin-ins or re-configurations.

Innovative exclusive technology that would proactively safeguard your online privacy and identity, allow you to surf the Internet revealing neither personal details nor information about your web destinations, while protecting your browser with application-aware security against common Internet threats such as web browser exploits, popup windows and browser hijacking.
So I guess it is a site that uses proxies. If that is what it is, I'll give them props for anonymity! So anonymous it's hard to find out what it is.

There have been a lot of proxies going up lately due to myspace and other things schools and businesses wish to block.

Ok, then due my site being in the same genre, it makes sense that people would be using it. Although after reading further I wouldn't mind using the service myself. For web browsing in general.

Note: Internet cookies and JavaScript must be enabled in your web browser.
That's from the signup page on that c48 thing. I love it when websites emphasise that you need internet cookies enabled, not just average household cookies. Always cracks me up.

Yeah I'd be careful with proxies you don't know who's running. If you're doing all your browsing through a proxy the proxy admin can find out a lot about you ;)

Could be. But from my understanding of honeypot, it would only catch suspicious activities. This seems to have a valid purpose.

You can feel free to correct me. I'm not too down on what exactly a honeypot is. Given that it could be anything.

From my understanding of the concept of "Honey pot":

It is basically "setup" by umm... the three lettered groups of guys.... what the heck do you call them... ummm.... oh yea, FBI CIA NSA etc etc etc.

From the outside, you think and say to yourself, "Hmm this proxy is pretty darn Anonymous, provides a good cover, its located in [BLAH]." But in reality, your actions are being logged/and or monitored by those three lettered group of guys.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Again, this is what my understanding of Honeypot is.
