Awesome table saw

Post by Benjamin »

I used to work at a wood mill back in my teens. It's pretty common for people to get hurt. In fact, I cut myself pretty badly on a chop saw once, but luckily I didn't lose any fingers.

This invention..

Is just great. The saw blade detects flesh and immediately stops and retracts before you are seriously injured. There is a video about half way down the page.

No, but I know several machinists that, after being comfortable with their equipment, forgot that the machine really doesn't feel bad when it cuts stuff, even if it is their body parts.

My Dad is a Machinist and probably would wish he had something like that if he knew about it.

He got caught on a titanium end-mill and it tore out 3 bones in his wrist, 2 in his hand, and severed a thingy.

:-/ Saw accidents suck.

First time I saw the video, I didn't know what is was about, I thought someone was demonstrating what a frozen hot dog would do to a table saw lol.
