SF.net and donations question

Post by Chris Corbyn »

Does anybody have any idea how they process these?

I have my PayPal account linked to a project and a member just sent a donation. I've received many donations through them before just fine but I don't normally spot it until I log into PayPal since people don't usually notify me that they sent a donation.

This member who just donated follwed up with an email to let me know, yet the money hasn't gone in my PayPal account for about 2hrs now (I'm not worried myself but I am wondering where his money disappeared to). I have it set to give 5% to charity so maybe they hold the money for a while when they process this? Seems odd though. The donation is appearing in the list on SF.net but not in PayPal. Hmm..

:( It seems my parent's have cancelled their internet. Grr... the email address registered with PayPal is my old email address from my parents internet subscription.. Does that stop my from receiving money to my paypal account on the address?

That sucks... I wonder if PayPal can track the payments I've had disappear into a black hole and sort it out for me with a new email address.

Have you had contact already with paypal? I had to solve a problem once and they had a good service.

Thanks matthijs. I've sent PayPal an email to see if the payments have been held due to the address bouncing and if so, could they re-route the payments to my new address (which I've just up on PayPal). I'll see what they say. The telphone helpline is extremely annoying as the options are too general, yet still don't cover what I wanted to ask. Theres no "evertyhing else" option and half the other options just go to a machine with a pre-recorded message.

:)

FYI: Your payment went through fine last week thanks
