Well, I think we'll have to wait and see how IE7 is going to be. The current beta is supposed to be the final release as far as css-support is concerned (not many changes ahead), but I haven't tested with it yet.

As far as IE7 and standard compliance: I'm split between being happy with all the changes and sad about what bugs will stay in. On one side I have my doubts about the intentions of Microsoft. You know, is it in their interest to fully support standards? Maybe it isn't? Maybe it's better to have their own standards to make sure they keep their market share etc. You could say that with Microsoft's amount of resources it would have been possible to make IE standards-compliant if they really wanted. But they didn't.

On the other side, I can understand the problems they face. Backwards compatibility. Working with the current code base.

I do think that the IE team itself is doing the best they can. If you follow Chris Wilsons blog and believe him.

Oh well, probably a Windows Server

I couldn't resist. Sorry.

And forgot to mention: we don't have to worry about ie or it's standards. If even extraterrestrials prefer Firefox MS isn't big enough to stop FF :)
