there is still episodes 7,8 and 9 that have not been produced. Lucas said he won't make them, but someone else still could if they pay him enough.

Having no more films (by Lucas, anyways) doesn't mean Star Wars is leaving our culture anytime soon. Look at the number of Star Wars properties LucasArts is producing in the next few years.. there are many. Then there's other properties like more of the animated series coming down the pipe.

Am I still a geek if I dislike Star Wars?

The only thing I ever liked were the Dark Forces games.

I've never really rated Lucas though :\

Maybe thankfully because in my opinion each release has been successively worse. :(

I don't think anyone could pay the Lucas more than he gets from owning the merchandising rights.

yea i know....it came out in 1977 but still the movie and the story is epic...i dont think there will ever be a story as good as that...kinda goes back to the whole Lord of the Rings deal....how many of us were happy but crushed knowing that the x-mas that followed wouldnt be another LOTR fix those 2 movies/stories are irreplacable

You'd only have to pay a royalty and it's yours for the making. However, it will be an extortionate amount :)
