Adobe Reader & Firefox

Post by Luke »

Whenever I open a pdf document in firefox and then try to close that window, firefox completely freaks out. It gets unresponsive for a while, and then FINALLY, after some tinkering around, you get a dialogue box verifying that you know there is a pdf open. Is this some sort of bug with firefox, or does adobe's plugin for it just suck?

I'm guessing this is with any PDFs, one-two page, 50 page, FDF?, size related?

I had the same problems, both in FF and Mozilla. Crashes all the time. What I did was in the options set the PDF's to be downloaded and opened in their own program. So each time you visit a pdf-link FF will just download it and open it in your pdf reader (adobe reader). Works perfect.

Tools->Options->Downloads->View&Editactions. There you can choose what files to open with which application.
