You gotta admit, someone somewhere with a fundable interest in cold weather animals' genatalia is an admirable thing, isn't it?

If mine shrunk due to pollution I would become Captain Planet.

Captain Planet with a rifle and a knife. :D

The icecap may not be the only thing shrinking in the Arctic. The genitals of polar bears in east Greenland are apparently dwindling in size due to industrial pollutants.
Hmm interesting!
We pay researchers via taxes (which eventually trickles down to the researchers via govt.) for THISS?!!? to go and examine polar bear's genitals??

I gotta comeup with a decent reason to evade filing taxes from now on..... oh wait, I can't do that!

Funny how our money seems to find a way to be used for useless things.

Don't get me wrong, I know they are endangered species, but come-on! Invest the money (even if it's your own money you are conducting research with) into something productive such as.... investing in new technology etc. etc. etc.

But all on the serious note: I was laughing my arse off!!
Very very funny indeed (the title that is, and also some parts of the article as well)

What's with the "my taxes are being wasted" idea that always seems to come up whenever the public finds out about acutal scientific research?!? Is the assumption that there is a highly paid team of Polar Bear Genetalia Specialists being flown up by private jet to inspect naughty bits once a week? Biologists check everything ... and last I checked, genitals are a key component of living things. At least the catchy headline got some people to read it. Plus it is from Denmark, not your taxes anyway. Thank goodness there are countries like Denmark who make some efforts to improve he planet while most other countries seem bent on destroying though a delightful combination of apathy and greed.
