I had one removed for only $40 (1.5 hours operation, dissected gingiva, drilled jaw, a lot of stitches, and in the end week and a half of being 'pretty' [postoperative edema]).Everah wrote: Thank God for dental insurance. What should have cost me $2000 only cost be $200. I think that hurt more than the procedure did.
Cheap (compared to american prices) but still no fun.

When he found out he needed his wisdom teeth pulled...
Seriously though, that suction trip takes a little gettin used to.
@Weirdan: You scored with that price dude. $40 for all of that! WOW. My procedure took all of 20 minutes. I got local anastehtic and an elbow in the chest for the dentists leverage. The one thing I remember the most is that when the dentist shot my face with Novacane (or what anasthetic they use) they shot so much of it that my left eye started to sag. That was wierd.

By the way, anyone have any good idea of some sort of joke to play on someone when you have 5 teeth to use as props?

California, baby. Everything costs more. 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath condos sell for $500,000+, gas is at $3.25 a gallon, Electricity is costing more and more each month. It is all going up. Health insurance (and every other kind of insurance) is going through the freaking roof. For me, it was a steal at only $200 bucks out of my pocket. I am into my regular dentist almost $1,000 for our regular visits and such as it is.
PS One of the reasons for the insane rates and fees commanded by health care professionals (especially in California) is our residents' inability to not sue someone for the stupidest crap imaginable. Doctors have to carry millions of dollars in malpractise insurance just to stay in business, which they pass on to us so they can stay in business, so we bite the bullet and end up visiting the dentist because we find out the hard way that biting bullets is really bad for your teeth.
